MPD sensitizes the public about automation and energy efficiency at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Expo
On Saturday October 5th, the Town and Country Planning Division (TCPD) and the Environmental Policy and Planning Division (EPPD) represented the Ministry of Planning and Development at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Expo at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre.
Representatives from both the EPPD and the TCPD interacted with members of the public and educated scores of attendees about the functions and importance of their divisions via their informational booths.
Ms Janyne Rattansingh, a Research Officer at the TCPD, delivered an in-depth presentation which touched on the roles and responsibilities of the Division and sensitized the audience about the ongoing Automated Construction Permitting System (ACPS) project.
During an interactive presentation, in which an application submission in the ACPS was demoed, the audience learned of the procedures to follow when applying for planning permission and other construction permits for development in Trinidad and Tobago
Meanwhile, Mr Muhammad Jaleel, an Energy Efficiency Specialist attached to the EPPD, gave an insightful presentation on the measures citizens can take to save costs and contribute to environmental sustainability.
